Photographer's Note

I was wandering around the grounds of a temple in Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh, looking for different angles from which to shoot the temple, when I spotted this young girl sitting on a wall passing the time of day. I thought the colour of her clothes and skin blended nicely with the colour of the wall, so I beckoned to her to see if she would mind me taking a photograph of her. Initially she didn't seem the slightest bit interested in having her photograph taken, so I ignored her for a while and just kept taking shots of the temple.

When I was about to leave I walked around again to where she was sitting on the wall and made a funny face as if to say that I was sad I hadn't been able to take her photograph. This prompted her to suddenly laugh and I was able to shoot a couple of frames including this one which captured her spontaneous reaction very well.

No PP except sharpening. I believe the photograph is straight - it may not appear that way because the walls and columns of the temple were not very straight.
