Photographer's Note
Angkor temple guide takes a smoke break. For some unknown reason I love this shot and currently have it on my desktop. Simple, but somehow it resonates with me. Would have been nice to have a blurred monk image flying by in the background, but it didn't happen. Taken at Preah Khan, an excellent major temple site that often gets overlooked. Has one of the few remaining in-tact linghams in all of Cambodia.

I like the shot. It's attractive. Focusing is very good and the smoke flying away from the man seems to reflect his thoughts, hidden behind his almost closed eyes.
Congratulations. Well done.

Great photo with heaps of character and an excellent depth of field. While a monk would be great this photo still works well without it.

Hi Bennett,
Superb shot, with a REALLY fantastic bokeh. The gard in the front is having a great time smoking away... excellent composition and tonal range.

Fantastique portrait,l'expression de l'homme,la fumée, l'arrière plan coloré et bien éclairé en font une superbe composition.

I agree with designsoul and yoshimi -- there is loads of character and the bokeh is superb... time for me to start looking up Nikkor 17-55 lenses (to replace an 18-70 kit lens)!
The only thing that might make this shot a little better is a tad more sharpness, but not much.
Well done.

Preah Kahn is my favorite of the temples. Something about it... sort of a presence. Perhaps it's this gentleman. Nice portrait. Casual, not posed, well placed.
