Photographer's Note

The visit of the main temple in Angkor can lead to unexpected surprises for photographers. Generally it is full of visitors, and finding a lonely monk meditating near a corner, may be such a surprise. Of course here I had many assets to consider, such as the elegant but very austere and dark gray architecture of Angkor's inner yard, the stylish windows, the apsaras, and finally the sitting monk. Actually there were some people behind me and they could storm my set at any moment, and nothing would retain the monk if he decided to leave, so I had to be fast, and show the scene in the best manner I could. I am aware that someone else could have chosen a different and perhaps better angle, but this was the only picture I managed before everything changed around me.
