Photographer's Note
This is my She’s coming round the mountain photo that many of you have already seen & critiqued on, however I was informed that the frame I used was not acceptable, therefore this photo was removed, I appealed however I lost this & as a result lost all the critiques that went with it, I was so upset I nearly left TE, however I have changed the frame & touched the contrast a little & decided to re-post, as this is part of my series.
It is the three gorges on the Yangtze River.
I dedicate this photo too Kath Featherstone (feather)

Hi Wilson,
Well I like the new frame : ) .. glad you stayed.
I like how the shadow creates the effect of the boat getting ready to emerge as it comes around the bend .. tremendous scale .. at first it felt a little not level to me .. now I am not sure .. there are so many horizontal lines from the near to far shores .. powerful place and image.
take care,
John

Hi Wilson,
I already wondered what happened to this photo (and another one too, I think?). I'm sorry to hear it was removed, but I'm glad you decided to stay on TE. Some of my father's photos were also deleted due to the frame recently.
About this photo, I can't remember the original frame, but I like this one too. Very good vertical composition with an appealing sunlight shining on the very high cliffs. Excellent inclusion of the boat, also to add scale. Thanks a lot for sharing!
Regards,
Lars

Frame or no frame, Wilson, I still think this is a great shot. The vertical framing is excellent to show the sheer height of those cliffs and the boat adds a wonderful sense of scale. Nice light, good detail. You did a great job and I am glad you're still here. Hope you had a really nice Easter,

Hi Wilson,
Fantastic natural impression with very spectacular diagonal composition, the POV is effective. I like the romantic atmosphere and the contrast between the huge mountain and the little boat. Great! Happy Easter!

Hi Wilson,
I am sorry to hear about the banned post. I don't remember the frame, but I do remember well the photo. I used to be much against frames and I still don't like much elaborate ones, but the simple ones like this never bothered me and lately I even find them pleasant. I am very glad you stayed.
About the photo, the cliff is quite impressive, and gave you a fabulous image. The light, the lines and the boat add to the silhouette to produce a great visual impact.

Hello Wilson
Avec ou sans cadre, cette vue est toujours aussi impressionnante et le rapport avec le "petit" bateau toujours surprenant.
Du très bon boulot!!

Hi Wilson,
I thought I had seen this one before. I have also run afoul of TE Law and their rules on frames are kinda vague. Anyway this is a wonderful vertical presentation with great lines and depth as this wounderful cliff reaching high up in the mist blue sky. The lush green contrast nicely with the sky and the details and sharpness are excellent.

Hello Wilson,
yes i remember that i criticized this shot and i'm impressed that you reloaded.but when i read the note then i understand the reason of the reloaded.I cannot understand what was the problem with the frame.Never mind the 'She’s coming round the mountain' is back in the TE site.

Thank you for the dedication Wilson. I cannot remember what the frame was like and I'm sure if it was very elaborate I would have remembered it. Anyway I like the photo and it was worth re-posting it. I do remember thinking before what an important part the boat played in the composition even though it is so tiny. Without it we would not be able to appreciate the vast size of the rock.
I'm glad you decided to return.
Take care
Kath

Hello Wilson!
I like your photo very much! The boat as a small point in front of the mountain made the photo really attractive together with the natural colors and lighting...

Hello Wilson,
Your photograph even presented second once remains a superb very gravitational image. I always like this bâteau which gives the scale of this cliff equipped with vegetation. It is good work.
Have a nice day

Hi Wilson.
You have made the mountain seem even more impressive by placing the tiny boat in juxtaposition to it so close to the corner edges. The diagonals and the gentle colour and light make the image very pleasing. I didn't see the original frame, but can't imagine how a mere frame could be unacceptable.
Anyway, this one is still here, and it does a great job of conveying a sense of the enormity of the natural features in this area.

Andrew

Hi Wilson,
Thank you for staying with TE. What was wrong with the frame ? I like the different curve and shape of the rocks. The boat gives us an idea of the scale. It might be an ioptic al illusion, it seem to be slightly unlevel. The light brings out the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Wilson,
I knew I saw this picture before... and I didn't understand your kind of "TE silence", just thought you had left on holidays somewhere, but I can understand it better now. It is true that some reactions are somewhat curious to understand... but never ming, the good thing is that you are still with us.
So i will just repeat the same critique that I think I didi on the first time to tell you that I like this composition very much, only thing being I would have left some more space to the right of th boat...
Have a nice day and share many more pictures with us :-)
Best regards, Christian

Hi Wilson,
Indeed I had already seen this beautiful photograph and I do not remember that the framework was so characteristic and it did not obstruct me the last time. This rock is really impressive and this boat at its base gives a good scale. Beautiful management of the natural colors. Thank you Wilson.
With all my friendships and a very good day,

Impressive photo, the small, toy-like boat emphasizes the majestic character of the mountain. Excellent light-shadows play and slightly foggy atmosphere.

Hi Wilson!
Excellent landscape photography, great framing and composition and great light managment! Of course, the most impressive part is the tiny boat on the lower right corner that allows us to realize how huge this rock is! Congratulations!

Hello Wilson,
You did it well that you didn't take action hastily and stayed with us! ;) Strange things happen at TE sometimes...
A far as I can remember the quality, the contrast and the lights became better, but why didn't you straightened the water level? Apart from that I really like your photo!
TFS!
Best wishes,

Again your sensibility and capacity to notice the theme, dear Wilson. The photo for the poets: simply but one doesn't leave it easy. It was big pleasure. Thank you very much. Best regards,

Hello Wilson. Glad to see you posted some photos from China. The vertical format fits this setting very well. Too bad there couldn't be a little more room behind the boat to breathe in this frame. Nice shot though..I love these tall cliffs.

Hi Wilson!
I remember it very well, the huge cliff with the very little boat. This must be an impressive place. I still keep the intention of going there to go on the cruise. The format was very well chosen, it gives us a good sense of dimension.
I'm glad you stayed after all:)

Hi Wilson, I remember this one. You would think if a photo was to be removed and you were replacing it, admin would re-instate the old critiques. In any case, I critiqued it before because I liked it, and still do, with your new frame. I think it's the sheer size of this rock, and this small boat coming around the bend that makes it seem any larger, that does it for me. The scale is impressive and your composition helps augment this. The colour seen in the shot, and the clarity throughout is very good.
Thanks, John

Hello Wilson
Nice to see you are back, but I see you did not post new photos, so I had a look at your gallery ;)
I'm glad you did not left TE, because of the removal of that picture!
A well timed capture of the 'She' ;) giving a good sense of scale to the imposing cliff!
A suitable vertical framing and natural colors well rendered.
Cheers
Marilyn
