Star ferries are under control, a photo from Hong Kong, South

Photographer's Note

This is the Star ferry at Tsim Sha Tsui terminal, looks like the giant ad is controling their outward and inward sails.

Modern meets anachronic, this is what I like in Hong Kong : Hongkongers recent pics showed either how modern or how packed the city is, while some british heritage is standing and alive.

Such as the racing green Star ferries (while it's much faster to cross with the MTR or with the tunnels), the double decker trams or on the other end of social life, Happy Valley horse races, the Pen's tea & tiffins everyday at 5PM (walking distance from this terminal).

A great picture, mixing reality with the commercial. I also like how the background and makeup on the poster takes up the green of the ferry. Well seen!

I don't see as much control as admiration of the beauty of the old ferry. Very well seen. The tele-perspective put the pieces together and the two green rectangels make a fine composition.

From the thumbnail it looked like a "collage", and in a way it is a "collage"...

I had been in Hong Kong last month and traveled several times from the central/Hong Kong side to Tsim Sha Tsui saw almost the same things as you did but you made my eye opened with your beautiful photo.

so you really were looking for posters in HK... and you had a lot of interesting ideas, this one is cool, the poster girl is really looking at the ferry. The way you captured the ferry is interesting, showing its middle part and cutting off its front and back parts - original. I like, very original photo!

The guarding beauty - amazing that this visual idea of large sized posters still works after being exploited more than a few times. The interesting thing is how ppl still make it work on their - your, Luko - shots.
