Photographer's Note
A scene straight out of Lu Chun's morning market. A very strange space with a lot of action, there were still quiet corners like this one where an image could be captured (almost) without people.

Walter, it looks like a movie set but I can SMELL China from this photo. The lighting is fantastic. I just wish there was a stronger focal point to pull together all the parts. The bicycles almost work for that but it seems like something is missing. Nevertheless it's a fine photo.

I love images of markets. It's an interesting insight into other's lives. In this shot I like the lighting, the shafts of light entering through the roof are lovely. This market seems very quiet, it's purely a personal thing but perhaps a person as part of the main composition?(I did notice several at the back and I did notice in your note that you were looking for a quiet spot so maybe my suggestion is not what you were aiming for :) The tricylcles in the foreground provide a good focal point. Overall I do like this....

Hi Walter
An excellent daily life shot. I like the lighting & the way it's caught the wafting blue smoke. Good shot!

This is very nice Walter. I love how the light is streaming into the market and the colors look really appealing to me. Personally, I wish there were more people here, someone in the foreground would add very nicely for me. Good shot.

Hi Walter:
I don't know how to analize my interest to this lively and lovely picture, but I know I admire its sharpness and the wondeful use of indoor light in this market.
This must be the work of a master.
Thanks.

Wonderfully clear photo.
You have made simple everyday things like tomatoes into a piece of art. The clarity is excellent and what i aim for but usually fail to achieve. Good work.

Hello Walter,
This is a fascinating image with good composition and lighting. Just for comparison, I would have liked to see this same location with more people and activity. It seems that you captured this at a quiet moment in the life of the marketplace. Thank you for the image and note.
Best,
José

Hi Walter,
It's been said before, but I love the light in this photo. There is so much going on, yet it seems peaceful somehow - I think the light, the trees outside, and the lack of people in the foreground are what make me feel this way. Thanks for sharing,
Chelsea
