Photographer's Note
A scene in the newer part of town beside the Tesco Department store, a multinational UK chain. I have had a head cold & virus lately, but not the dreaded C19, thankfully. The Roman script was a welcome change from all the Chinese characters, only a few of which I can read. I caught a bus back to the nearest bullet train station across the Yangzi River and from there it was all smooth sailing at 300 km per hour back to Wuxi.

Hi Chris
We're both back in 2012 at the moment. I thought there might have been a Tesco sign in English too but no. Good night time photo of the signage.
Get yourself well and stay that way - at least we're doing (so far) much better than most other countries with Covid 19.
cheers
Ian

Hello Chris,
I hope you have recovered. Were you tested for Covid 19, since you know you didn't have it?
I wondered about the strange title, but it soon became clear. The language problems, including the signs with characters I couldn't read, were a constant stress during my journey in China. But seen on neon signs glowing in the darkness, they prove themselves very photogenic.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Chris,I'm glad you didn't catch the virus, that's the most important thing. Beautiful night scene, the only words I understand are in fact "Milan coffee", but I don't understand if the place is a tribute to my city or gadgets of the Rossoneri football team are sold .. hehee ...have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hi Chris,
interesting to see the Tesco there mixed with plenty of inscriptions in Chinese. Milan Coffee as well seems to bring these two countries together as the coronavirus pandemic...
Fantastic blue hour time with the attractive neon lights in a foreign alphabet.
Very eye pleasing geometry,
I am glad to hear that you got just a usual type of virus :)

Hello Chris,
Great night shot of all those brightly lit signs with lots of Chinese characters. You captured them really well and with good clarity. Get well soon.

Chris, the light is perfectly managed by night. The various neon signs illuminate the city. The scripts indicate in which country was taken the picture. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Hello dear Chris, I was wondering about you. Not without reason, if you had a cold. But thankfully it was just a "normal" virus, not SARS-Covid2. I hope you have recovered already. Just the view of the supermarket, like everywhere, but these Chinese characters! Even if it was difficult to communicate, it was for me a great challenge and fun. Probably I will never go to China again :(. Well, we see the lO from Tesco, in usual script, and some blue Chinese. It is not Tesco, maybe it is the supermarket? Milan Coffee - strange to see there. I recognize a few characters. But wait, do you have Google Translate in your mobile? There is an option camera. You just put your mobile on the text and it translates. Try with this photo. it works! Hahaha. From Chinese, this is a bit difficult though. But better than just nothing.
All the best, stay safe

Hello Chris,
Fortunately, not every virus is as dangerous as the covid 19. I hope you have fully recovered.
I can imagine that it is a relief to find words in our own characters. Although those Chinese signs are very photogenic.
Excellent presentation
Be careful and stay safe, Rob

Hi Chris,
Bright advertising lights look good at night. It's good that the sky is not totally black, very dark blue is better. Italy is of course famous for coffee culture. But Milan Coffee is still somewhat surprising.

Hello Chris,
Before I read your notes (good that you haven\t had the virus, by the way), I wondered how adept you were at reading the Chinese characters!
The neon signs make a very attractive presence, against the night sky but what a relief, when there are some you can decode, rather than just being patterns!
Love the dotted patterns of skyscrapers, in the b/g.
Keep safe,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Chris,
Les panneaux lumineux attirent le regard. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des immeubles. La lumière de l'heure bleue a un effet spécial sur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

There is a Chinatown in many western cities, but also Italian caffe's and restaurants in China. Apparently, people like the taste of far countries, Chris.
Beautiful night scenery, immaculate camera settings.
Have a nice new week, stay well,
Ike

great night capture, I can make out part of the Tesco sign there and wondering this cannot be the same Yangshou that I visited in 2003 - along the river from Guilin
