Photographer's Note
This school is located beside a new residential development, on the north side of Lantau Island - near Hong Kong's airport.
There is slightly more land available here, than on the main Hong Kong Island, so I was a little surprised to see where they had placed their school's multi-purpose court.
I took this photo from a friend's flat on the 40th floor.

I love the title. The picture shows a great example of how the lack of space is being addressed in Hong Kong so fits very well with the aims of TE.
Although I don't think it is particularly relevant to this image, I think it is nicely framed to exclude any surrounding distractions.

At first I did not see the sport courts on top, so I was wondering about your tittle. Now I find very amusing.
A good shot that is very interesting because it demonstrates that space is really a problem in Hong Kong. Nicely done.
So will you go teach at this school ?

Great shot (you got it ;-) and title - Living on a countryside its hard to image lack of space - but you made it clear with this photo - Thanks for sharing Andrew.

Poor students... :-D
Excellent title !
But after all, why wasting space when it is large enough to build a court ? I should have been less surprised with a car park, but why not ?
When you'll see a golf course on the top of a flat, please let us see... ;-)

I don't want to be the person down who will receive the ball on his head... That an intersting view showing how we can save space in a city! Well done, Andrew!

Your title is excellent, Andrew. This is great. My son wanted to buy a tennis table and put it on oor roof, but your photo gives me a much better idea..
Except from the question who wil go and get the ball, there is a question what happends if the ball falls on someone's head. well, a basketball is better than a bowling ball.
Well seen, Andrw, good job.

Une belle image vertigineuse. Ce qui me plais le plus c'est que ce stade obtient la place maîtresse et en plus se fait remarquer grâce a ces couleurs plus claires.
Il y' a un très bon contraste et une belle présentation.
Bien vu Andrew

Well, your title was very funny, indeed. And I got surprised with all critiques above, as I've seen some courts like that here in São Paulo. I can also say that I studied in a high school where the court was... INSIDE the building. It was at 6th floor, together with the 7th, and, sure, there were about 5 or 6 floors above it, but this one is really an exception. At least, it was impossible to lost the ball!
About the "who gets the ball" matter: we use here to put a long net covering all the top of it!!! It wont' hold a table tennis ball, as Yitzhak needs, but it's enough for football, volleyball, basketball and so on... My two cents... Please, tell me if you become rich selling this idea in Hong Kong.

Very attractive school and picture. They must play the 'professionals' on this playground, that the ball does not fall from the roof. I wonder with how many balls the game begins.

ha, what a funny title! here at PolyU we have tennis courts on a roof, but I have never I think the perspective is tilted a bit, you tried to straighten composition making the line at the bottom horizontal... interesting picture.

Interesting pic, and interesting architectural style on that building... it looks like a mainland building. The walls of that court are quite high, but a basketball could do some serious damage if it hit someone on the head from that height.

Even with more land on Lantau - maybe it is just natural to bring the "business as usual" from the central!? Well seen, interesting shot.

A fun title to begin with, Andrew. Hilarious. And the photo is very well captured, with the red sports court given appropriate attention. I've seen swimming pools on top of skyscrapers in NYC and Chicago, but I don't recall a court like this one. Very well seen. I'm also adding this into my "Vertigo" theme.

Very interesting. Well, we have some of this here in Thailand, even in the Philippines but not on a six-storey building. Anyway, your photo is definitely informative, thanks.

Nice picture. Great perspective.
Wow, your friend must have a great view. I think this is typical in Hong Kong. When I was in Hong Kong, I was staying on the 20 somethingth floor and the building in front of me had a small enclosed court where kids where playing ball. I can't remember what it was, but I had the same thought as you, 'Who's going to go get the ball if it ever goes down'

Poweful shot, I makes me wonder about where the world is going. The colors are so strong that it looks like a scaled model. Well senn, well commented.

I like the title very much. haha.
very interesting pic.
Is it a 4-in-1 playground? or 5-in-1?
I think this is unique in the world except Hong Kong!!

Dear Andrew, here it is of course the object that works very well :) There are lots of distracting parts but that couldn't be avoided. Very good angle that you got, thanks for sharing, always interesting to see how otherwise useless space can be used. Thanks for sharing.

Jesus!, is this a ship or what?! If it is, I have to prefer the 30-m-long "Santa Maria" in Barcelona harbor...no tennis courts. Great composition in any case!
