Photographer's Note
Curvy road in the mount Ilimanu Timor-Leste about 3KM along the mountain and cliff. Before Portuguese arrived on the Timor island in year 1500, this road may not have existed or it was only a foot path. Portuguese opened the road centuries ago and it was continued by the Japanese during World War II under the Romusa (forced labor).
During the Indonesian military invasion in Timor-Leste in December 1975, the road was still very narrow. In order to access to the strong hold of Timor-Leste independence fighters, the Indonesian military engineering called Zippur as well as other private construction companies, rebuilt the road again in the 1980s until early 1990s. Timor-Leste is now an independent nation. Until now, it is the only good road to access to the eastern region of Timor-Leste.

Hallo Zesopol!
What an impressive street! The pattern which it "paints" into the mountains here really is amazing - and somehow beautiful. I like your inventive and very interesting photo very much. The category for this photo better should be "Transportation" here ;-)
All the best to you and greetings from autumnal Germany!
