Photographer's Note
As rain clouds gather overhead, the joy of these little kids is expressed in every step they take. They know that the rain will bring much needed water to the fields their father and uncles toil. Their needs are simple, just enough to feed their stomach. So they are happy that the rain is finally here. When their family gets to sell the paddy they grow, they will probably get one new dress during the festive season. Who needs more, one dress a year is more than enough for this young kids.

Oh ho, Anjan it is a shot not from a photographer but from a painter. The movements are very rythamic and the colour tone adds tha drama in it.
Well done.

What can I say of such a photo ? I can join in my soul with the children in their joy. So I'm inside the photo not outside. Great. Greetings T.

Hi Anjan,
Thanks for the note, that helps very much to understand the shot. This is very beautiful. There is a nice rythm in the silhouettes, against this threatening and coloured sky. I've thinked (before reading your note) they run to shelter from the rain, and... After reading your note, your shot is more understandable and I see the joyful movements. Great shot! Congratulations, and thanks.

This is super one Anjan, and a reall feel from your heart note also. In sepia this picture is just 2 good. And the rythmic movement of the kids well taken. I am seeing your recent posting and I can say that you are emerging as one of the best photographers around here though highly underrated. Keep up your good work.

Wonderful note, and a vibrant capture, which misses just a bit of energy(1) and clarity to it, so the impact of seeing that they are children and enjoying their running is instantaneous, infectious, not just understood by our eyes. The idea of conversion from color is judicious, but maybe the reddish brown effect you chose is distracting needlessly. IMO, of course.
Someone, Henk, said in the forum that critiquing comes down to like it or not like. Not so, I like your capture, and I critique it. While having a nother sip of coffee as well! ;)
Thanks, Ajan, this is very much photography as we all tend towards.
(1) using multiple bursts maybe, to catch different postures, and maybe you did actually.

Hi Anjan, a wonderful, artistic image which perfectly illustrates your Note and demonstrates these children's joy of LIFE! The sky makes an ideal background to their three images in partial silhouette. And, unlike a lot of toning on TE, the toning here suits the image very well. Well done. Stephen

Nicely seen Anjan - perhaps I know something more artful along the lines of this image so its impact is not as much as if I hadn't seen something like it before .....and for real myself on a river bank near Ahmedabad - but it is a very nice capture of the movement against such a kind sky - nice tonal work too!
best wishes Kev

Hi Anjan,
You have created a superb atmosphere here with this very unique sepia mood. The spring in their step is a joy to behold and is perfectly described in your note which in itself is a gem. The silhouttes are just perfect and their motion has been beautifully captured. I also like the low POV that you have managed here bringing the clouds into play. Well Done!

Excellent photo. The sepia tone works very well and brings out the definition in the clouds. The composition is very well done with the three children skipping through the scene. Great lighting and capture.
