Few Steps Away, a photo from Delhi, North

Photographer's Note

Jantar mantar again. This place is fascinating as it is a photographer's delight. This one is from atop one of the many instruments built in the eighteenth century to measure time and planetary movements.The Yantra Mandir (literally the 'temple of instruments', and often called the Jantar Mantar), is located in the modern city of New Delhi, Delhi. It consists of 13 architectural astronomy instruments, built by Maharaja Jai Singh II , from 1724 onwards, and is one of five built by him, as he was given by Mughal emperor Muhammad Shah the task of revising the calendar and astronomical tables.

The primary purpose of the observatory was to compile astronomical tables, and to predict the times and movements of the sun, moon and planets. Some of these purposes nowadays would be classified as astrology.

I love this vertical POV that lets my eyes run quickly downwards in the stairs....where the colourful lady is moving.
this shot shows me one of the most striking aspect I noticed in India: colours!

some time ago I saw a big modern sofa in an Italian design store, partly red and partly pink, also the cushions. I liked the combination very much, anybody else said, no, not possible, doesn´t go together. You are presenting here exactly the same colours, in addition with ocre and in a great perspective.

What a great place for photographers but also what you write about it, my imagination goes wild and you wonder what went on when they made this place alive so many years ago. We have seen a lot of photos looking down on things but never I saw it in such an elegant way. I like the slight curve leading us down the steps and how the lady stands there, tiny from above and yet so graceful in her beautiful cloths with her beautfiul long hair. Outstanding photowork ... well, you gallery is a pure aestethic pleasure and a really hard task for someone like me to choose what I like best.
There is no real right answer for it, but I will begin with this one. It is absolutely fantastic. The powerful point of view with stairs leading to a lady...simple perfection. Focus created by geometry of captured element is so strong that dominates and accents the lady in wonderful dress as main dominance despite of her position and smallnest in comparison to stairs.

Hi Aadiil,
Your gallery is very impressive and interesting to go through. You have captured so many colourful images that are original and show me something out of the ordinary in either their subjects or perspectives. This one stood out to me because it resonates a vibrancy of orange colour with a very creative pov looking downwards on the stairs, and you have also incorporated a human element with the woman standing below. This is a very strong shot, and the framing makes it stand out even more.

hello Aadiil,
I see that I have missed several great shots from you, I'll start with this one.
the composition is great, I like a lot how the curve of the stairs leads the eye towards the woman. the colours are great, warm and calm, and the whole scene conveys peace and relaxation. very well seen and presented, my compliments.
