Photographer's Note
I took this near Varanasi in a little village. The grandma was fanning the baby, since it was very hot! India during July is HOT!!!!It was a very spontaneous shot. The mom came out and brought the baby in shortly after. I would have preferred not having the cot in the picture, but it was so quick and spontaneous.I am happy wit the natural expression of the grandma and the surprised expression of the baby.

Wonderful!!!! That's a great picture Christina. I like the expression of the woman. And the eyes of the kid! Huge and wonderful eyes, looking at the camera (probably wondering: what's that?). I really don't mind the cot, and reality I like it: it's part of the place, it's part of the composition. I prefer natural and some disorder than a "too perfect picture". The important thing is the natural expressions and you have it. And the technical quality of the picture is just excellent. Congrat!!!!

I think the cot helps in the composition by making the structure more stable and helping to lead the eye into the picture. Well taken !

Very expressive ! I like the two people, so vivid, and I think that cot is intersting too, because it is very "Indian", we see a lot crossing India.

The eye make this picture. I don't think that the cot distracts to this photo but rather adds to it.

very natural shot! the surprised eyes of the kid, his small leg with mud, special type of bangle of grandma and blue sari (dress) add a lot to the composition.

Hi Christina,
A great picture full of tenderness.
The cot is not a problem for me, it is an additional information to the daily life.
Take care,
Véro

Great spontaneous capture Christina,
The bed was not an immediate distraction to me until you mentioned it and it's a pity we see a pillar to the right. But these minor imperfections should not distract us away from the subject material which scores top marks here. Very good indeed!
I'm looking forward to my India trip after Christmas!
Regards,
Vic, Singapore.
