This dwarf Naga belongs to the infamous Juna Akhara. He was a big attraction in a small package, drawing many pilgrims to receive his blessing. He looks congenial here, but on another occasion he angrily threw sand in the camera and face of a videographer. A tempest in a teapot, so to speak.

nice portrait, i like the line behind him which is exacly on the same level as the line of the shadow... and the person is interesting too, i wish he was wearing darker clothes ;) nice work

i would never expect a smile like this from any member of the juna akhara. this photograph will be greatly appreciated if people seeing this portrait knew what the juna akhara was. maybe you should add something about nagas or nagas belonging to the juna akhara in your note. i would say that the moment that youve caught here is very rare bennett and thats what i like most about this capture. apart from the moment, youve got a lovely tone here especially on his face.
i have to agree with maciej on the sort of a diagonal in the horizon. it's really affective here. hmmm i wonder what i'd do if i wanted to make this shot even stronger...
perhaps you should have tried to bring out his size in comparison to the people who're paying their respect to him, you know.... trying to get a whole lot of elements together in one photograph so that the photograph can speak the words in your note for itself :)

nice portrait bennett! the background gives me the impression that he is on a boat cruising... strange atmosphere as you pointed out.. a tempest in a coffee cup;-)
