Photographer's Note

Ek Bahu Baba in procession, (center, arm raised. For full story see photo "Holy Hash Smoker"). The line of naga sadhus stretched back 2 kilometers as they marched to the waters of enlightement at the 2001 Kumbha Mela.

Got caught with a long lens here, amidst some jostling, so again the image is not as sharp as it could be.

I feel like ive gone back in time with this photo. The fact that this isn't completely sharp and not a perfect photo helps give this effect.

It's hard to believe this is taking place now in 2004! It's pretty eerie and spooky at the same time. Nice documentary shot.

sharpness is not the issue here bennett, for i understand where it comes from having read your travel blog... it is a great testimony again of this event... thanks for sharing! compo isn't bad either...

oooh, forget about the technical issues such as sharpness, the topic of this shot is spot on Te's purpose.

Very impressive, it looks like you'd be run over by a herd of wild saddhus, even though you say it was taken with along lens, we feel like overwhelmed by this peculiar crowd.

This is the kind of image that makes you want to instantly pack your luggage and discover the world... and also question yourself : sh*t, what am I doing right now in my office?
