The Edward “Elliots” Beach located at Besant Nagar Chennai, is a popular spot for those seeking relief from the sweltering heat and the hustle & bustle of the city.

At one end of the beach is the Church of Our Lady of Health, Madonna. There is also the Ashtalakshmi Temple, dedicated to the eight manifestations of Goddess Mahalakshmi (The Goddess of Wealth). The Schmidt Memorial is very prominent landmark on this picturesque beach. A few decades ago, Elliot's beach was the favourite haunt of foreigners seeking a secluded beach to sun bathe at.

Joggers and Fitness Freaks at dawn… Fishing boats putting out to sea… People jumping into the sea for a dip……Games of Cricket, Vollyeball & Football…..and the soft splash of sea waves. That is what greeted me when I went Elliots Beach on Sunday. The fishermen heading out to sea for their daily catch was such a beautiful looking moment that I had to shoot it.

The boats are mostly Catamarans with an outboard motor (usually a motor bike one) “fixed” onto them.

This is the first of the two or three of the series that I am planning to put up at TE.

I never knew the full name of the Elliot beach a.k.a Besant nagar Beach :))
A bit tilted... & sensor dust spot.
generally a nice view...

very nice approach... glowing waves under sun and the silhouttes are composed well... some tilting problem is there... i've a workshop...

It is not a gondola :o) but this is a very good scene...
The sun reflection in the water is great and this simple composition works fine.

It makes me think at "Kanavukale, kanavukale ..." the light reflection over the water, a horizont leveling can still be done indeed.

Nice one...I like the warm tones... I've shot something similair at the marina too...lol.... what else do we chennaites have apart from the seas to shoot... Hope to see more...
