A vendor of pineapple juice outside Churchgate station in Bombay in 1973. For those who may argue that the city's name is Mumbai, it was definitely still Bombay 36 years ago.
This was scanned from a b&w negative of unknown brand.

I was thinking that even if India has greatly changed since then, some things stay the same - the way fruit juices and food are still sold on the street for instance. someone has something to sell, you buy it, no big fuss about it. like daily life.
I like the way this contrasty image shows an almost horizontal row of men all interacting, in one way or the other, with the guy selling his pineapple juice. a slice of life.

Hello Gert,
I like this "oldie" with so many details... the photo appears to express extreme heat, judging by the brightness and contrast :) Interesting scene; but none of these guys seem to pay the slightest attention to you, except for the juice seller!
Did you try the juice? ;)

When I see this glass, probably washed in the bucket - I do not think I would like to drink this juice, even so fresh. interesting daily life scene from Bombay. Splendid quality as always. For me it was the big surprise, the people here have such a dark skin. Splendid presentation.

Pineapple juice being sold in India'a big apple. Nice capture and the b&w rendition has immortalized this scene . Interesting how a living can be made and a family can be fed on this humble enterprise.

I belive that in some cases the photos of a color distract the mind from the message of the photo. As a black and white photos lover, I like the B&W tones of this photo which shows the daily life.

excellent view of the old bombay, probably these personages are there yet but the clothes are different and the place is much more dirty.excellent this B&W image, with a great quality.the boy was preoccupied with the camera.
