Photographer's Note

The same mountains but a few hundred kilometers to the east. A farm high above Alakandana (sp) river. The people here were very shy, curious of us, but it was a long while before we felt able to take photos.

Very nice expression you got and pleasant warm coloring full spot on this one litlle lady as the rest is out of focus a way to pluck out a face in a crowd. Nice Elaine.

This image is exquisite!I love the soft diffused light that complemetns this beautiful girl. Compositionally she is centralized, but the figures around her move you eye around. BEAUTIFUL!

Great shot, earthy tones, beautiful gaze of inquisition from the young girl (?) in the front and enough acquiescing from the one behind. Too bad the little one is cut on the left, for compo sake, but that's nitpicking. A shot full of humanity.

Hi Elaine, what a great momnet and waht a lovely shot of this shy girl. The way she rests againts the board and holds her hands is lovely, just wating what will come up, and not ready to open up to you.
Your DoF is excellent, with the other children and the woman blurred, and looking at her and you.

although the girl is totally different she kind of reminds me of sharbat gula, which is so weird, because sharbat in her photograph has the really icy cold look which can send shivers down your spine . this girl on the other hand has that really warm and soothing look . both the girl's come from either poles in terms of feelings, but the end feelings thats left in us is the same

I think Uttaranchal is the gem of the Indian Himalayas. Here you have a wonderful guarded expression, some nice faded colours, and nice bokeh, all adding up to a great shot.
