Photographer's Note
My mini-series of people catching their forty winks....as Pixelterror JY says like a restless hunter after his prey ;-)
Jai Vilas Palace is located in the new city of Gwalior. It the house of the present Maharaja of Gwalior. This palace was designed by Lt. Col. Sir Michael Filose and resembled an Italian palazzo .It was constructed to welcome the ‘Prince of Wales’ on his visit to the country..
Its unique architecture, which is a mix of Italian, Tuscan and Corinthian, is quite amazing. Jai Vilas Palace is constructed by the Maharaja Jiyaji Rao Scindia and the fabulous palace is festooned with furniture from Versailles, Italy and France.
Although the current maharaja still lives in a portion of the palace,a large part of it is now a museum. 35 of the rooms have been made into the Jiwaji Rao Scindia Museum. The rest of the rooms reflect the splendour and glory, which comes alive in the Italianate structures.
The Museum exhibits a collection of antiques belong to the Scindia reign. Two Belgian chandeliers weighing several tens will definitely catch the sight of everyone. Each article put on display in the museum is worthy to be mentioned, but some rare collections like a glass cradle from Italy, silver dinner services and swords that were once worn by the Mughal emperors Aurangzeb and Shah Jahan are conspicuous.
Here in this picture is a lavish stained glass window of the palace. But my purpose was to capture the guard catching his afternoon nap in front of the window, but I don't think i would have taken this shot, had the opulent window not been the perfect background!

Hi Angshuman,
The point of view is showing the details and colors of the stained glass window. The presence of the sleeping guard is an extra to the composition. The subject is well framed. The light going trough the stained glass window is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

I was going to say: "this is art nouveau" but then I thought it's not possible because we are in India... but then I read your note... so after all it is possibile!
A great shot my friend!
The stained glass window is a work of art in itself but the composition with the sleeping man is genial: the atmosphere of "fin de siecle" is charming, the framing is perfect.
My sincere compliments,

Dear Angshuman da,
nice capture of the man in front of the nicely decorated panel of window. The deemed back light on the guard and the vass created here a mysterious ambiance. Beautiful contrast between the bright and colourful window and the soft light on the outline of this man. Dramatic. Very nice presentation. Tfs.
Have a nice sleep.
Good night.

Hi Angshuman, I regret that I could not see Gwalior, this window looks very beautiful. I haven't seen such a window in other palaces. when it is so dark no wonder one would like has his nap.

Hi Angshu,
He might think he has found a secluded place,
but not from your camera. And what a place for
a nap. The highly decorated windows with the
back light offers a spectacular view. You have
done an impressive photo job. Excellent.
Have a nice Wednesday.

Namaste Angshu,
Oh you evil restless hunter ;-)
I had never heard of this city before, and these surroundings do not evocate India to me, given the position of the silhouette I'd rather go for some palce like Egypt here, another effect of Incredible India ;-)
Have a nice day JY

Bonsoir Angshu
A palace under influence... Italy, Wales, France...
A stained glass perfectly framed and lit with very attractive colors.
I like very much the twilight in which the transparency of the stained glass soaks.
Best regards.

Hi Angshu!
The vivid colors of the lavish stained glass window with the silhouette of the guard compose a tremendous set piece. A curious feeling of a glorious sobriety... a delicate approach from your part, that restores the beauty of the past... Congratulations!
Regards!

You state the window is not the subject of your shot but I confess it has my attention; it is stunningly beautiful. The light coming through had rim-lighted your sleeping man perfectly, so we only have your word he is napping ;D

Namaste, my friend Angshuman,
A very difficult light, controlled well to obtain this elegant cross-light and a good contrast with the silhouettes, with a magnificent balance of the illuminated zones and the dark zones.
Is a splendid composition, very well executed.

Well, the colored glass window remains the best part for me, espcially with the very dark surrounding.

Bonjour Angshu,
Ce vitrail est d'une très grande beauté. Il est heureux que de tels lieux soient devenus des musées. Les visiteurs et les photographes en profitent pour engranger des images magnifiques dans leur tête ou dans leurs cartes-mémoires.
Très agréable !
Amicalement

Sabaidee Angshu,
This is a beautiful shot of this work of art. I like the POV, the Square format work very well here to balance all elements with good symmetry. It is nice to see the intermix of different cultural elements, the design and stain glass of the west in Indian. Beautiful light that illuminated and enhanced the color of the glass even more. The silhouette of the man and the pot and plants are nice extra element that make the composition more interest and worthwhile.
Thanks.
Way.
