really nice photograph here
the diagonal effect is very good here
and i like the inclusion of the person at the back
even though the composition is entirely different, it has the effect of some of james nachtwey's photographs, probably because of the diagonal.
i'm curious to see the original version, since this one is squarish in format.

This is a particulary good black and white shot. You have done an excellent job with the contrasts. I like the mans expression and the gaze of the other man in the background. Great photo

A lovely portrait with good graphic and compositional qualities - very nice Vero! I think I prefer the black and white version to the colour one despite the complementary colours.

Compo is excellent and the second character in the background makes the image happen IMO. The guy has a very happy expression and the towel, bicycle & cup combo is a nice touch. B&W tones are OK, but I might have added a bit more contrast. Anyway, good work!

Bravo, vero. Aux vues de vos dernieres photos, tu semble former avec Tom un couple tres egal dorenavant, pour ce qui est de la photographie (le reste aussi, j'espere!). tes qualites sont evidentes ici, harmonie personelle avec le sujet, et a nouveau, bon dosage focal entre "background" et "foreground".

Apres tout, les rues de Calcutta, il s'en passe autant dans le "decor" qu'au premier plan.

Histoire de ne pas te "cirer les pompes", j'ajoute que sa chemise et son front sont un peu surexposes dans cette version B&W.

c est bien joué de l avoir posté en noir et blanc elle ressort bcp mieux

Arrgghh Vero, je cherche desesperement ces gobelets en inox, j'ai deja trouvé les plats a thalis mais tjrs pas les verres. La conversion en N&B est remarquable mais j'aime tout autant la version couleur plus vivante, et j'adore ce bleu !

Strong composition retained my attention in a not so evident B&W for me, personal choice, the interaction between you and ur target and the explisive diagonal perspective to the other viewer in the other corner gives a great impact of eye travelleing. His bicycle is a nice detail too. Very well done Vero !

très réussi véro. le couplage de la diagonale avec l'homme, puis le deuxième homme en BG est très bon. Les tons de noir et blanc sont aussi très réussis. Il y a un paquet de photos très réussies dans votre dernier voyage. Je vais essayer de trouver un peu de temps pour y revenir.

Vero, I had a chance to look at the original and the final version and like them both.
IMO both colour and bw work just fine, I think the image would even be better if the original had a bit more to the right so all of the woman would have been included in the image.
Final result is also very nice.
