Where are flying your thoughts little girl?

Your small friends are playing vivacious just there
But you seem absent, absorbed in your thoughts:
small hands not big enough to grab your dreams,
sad eyes, too much for your age.

I don't come closer, not to frighten you,
but in the breeze that grazes your hair
you will find the caress that I wasn't able to give you.

Very beautiful portrait.
I love the contrast between the roughness of the wood, the dust on her skin and the purity of her eyes.
Maybe i would have preferred it with a little more contrast.

Hi Daniela, this is a very well composed portrait - off-centre subject, looking into the frame and with her hand to fill the empty space. Lighting is superb to give a warm tone to the skin and also wonderful highlights in her hair. The faraway look in the girls eyes tell us of deep thoughts and possibly troubles. Well captured.

A very nice soulful portrait Daniela - a little too much burn on the hair and shoulders but nevertheless a very nice image which is otherwise both technically and artistically very good. I wonder with the burn whether it might actually look better in B&W - it's a shame because it really is such a nice capture.

Very happy you paid me a visit on my gallery, as I can find out about yours, and it's a joy, with very diverse subjects, which usually comes from the way we look at the world, and how the retina stays near the heart.
I was struck by this one on your first page, and am glad it got its due recognition. A moody portrait, with drama rendered by the strong sunlight in the hair, still leaving the face in the shade, which halps convey the full expression of that cue-less gaze (as I see it)

Hello Daniella,
This photograph was taken 13 months ago and poste 9 months ago. I discovered it quite by accident. You have done intuitively what the great painters — Leonardo, Rembrandt, and even Picasso — have done in their work. They put one eye on the vertical centerline of the portait.

I wrote a book about Leonardo, and in Chapter 8 I wrote about a principle discovered by Christopher Tyler in 1998. Although in art schools this is never taught, the talented artist focuses on one eye.
