Photographer's Note
a trio in Hanuman temple, Jan Path..
many of these poor and diables ones live by the temples in Delhi, mostly relying on some alms given by other people who come to temples. these tree are blind and giving bananas (which are used as an offering) to people, and expecting some alms in return.

That's a tough, tough life you're describing there, Evren, and your unsparing portrait really shows these men as they are, no sugar coating, no false sentiment, just straight. I doubt this image will be a big hit today but I for one respect it very much, as well as yur low POV here, getting way down to take them at their level.
I might have used a wider aperture to blur the wall more, but that might have been a mistake, eh?
All the best,
Emile

An interesting and impressive picture in black-and-white. The three blind men with stick are shown in same float. The wall in the background strengthens the impression that here poor humans sit. Greeting, Wolfgang

Ooops my comment did not go through.
Sad moment caught here ...
I have a strange feeling here, especially with the middle cane grabbed this way. I want to rush and help him to stand up ...
They seem to be in deep thoughts with such faces expression and sorrowful 'looks' (not sure I used the proper word here)
Did they feel you taking the photo ?
Thanks, Alain -

Evren, what a fantastic find on the way to the Hanuman temple. As Francis writes, very sad, and our sympathy goes to them. Yet, I cannot but muse the irony of this frame which might elude those who are unfamiliar with Indian languages. I am sure you understand. This one is superb, quite a departure from your recent series but a worthwhile one. Into my favorites.

Already seen this one, poor points again...
a great one, structured by the wooden sticks.
each one stands in a different way.
Look at the hands, head, legs, all different but balanced.
great tis posture in the middle with his hand on top.
The wall behind proposes another vertical stucture...
Great shot, fav

Wow, this is great, Evren--three different faces becoming increasingly weathered as we go from left to right. Black and white works well, emphasizing the darkness of their situation in life. Regards, Ken.

Hi Evren,
For them everthing is just black and white.
Your portrait is powerful. It reflects the reality which we try to overlook.
Great job.

Rajeev from India
