Road construction worker, a photo from Jammu and Kashmir, North

on my way from leh to Lamayuru, my jeep was stopped for an hour due to some construction work on the road... this young man was working on putting a new tarmac on the road... i would highly recommend to check some of vijay's posts on these road construction workers (login : ttmountainman). i know some will find it a bit soft, but i still like it though;-)

J'aime assez comme elle est décentrée.

Je dois dire que j'aime aussi les autres photos, celle près de la Gompa à Leh, l'homme qui fait tourner les moulains à prières. J'en avais d'ailleurs posté une de lamayuru un peu semblable.
j'espère que tu continueras à poster autre chose que les portraits, même si ceux ci plaisent.. tant pis pour les points..

Très joli portrait Eric avec l'aspect décentré qui donne un bon équilibre à ta photo. Je me demande si la photo n'est pas tout à fait nette en fait?

Heee ! elle ne serait pas un peu floue ta photo ? LOL
Sans blague, tu as bien réussi ton coup, belle lumière + bonne compo + belles couleurs + visage/attitude expressifs = un bon portrait.
J'aime bien son côté décontracté et charmeur.

A part toutes les autres qualités évidentes et déjà commentées, j'aime bien qu'il ait l'épaule droite un peu élevée qui crée un angle à 90 juste au point fort de l'image. Un petit détail qui ajoute à la composition.

Tous vos photos de portraits sont toujours très belle et agréables à regarder. Je suis un peu en manque cependant en voyant les titres comme celui-ci, "construction worker", qu'il n'y a rien dans la photo qui démontre ce métier, pas plus que dans plusieurs autres d'ailleurs à titre évocatif mais pas évident si on regarde la photo, ex: fruit juice seller, bread vendor, etc..

But composition wise it’s a very good one, the portrait of this man is good and the cropping of the top makes it special too

This is a wonderful photo, from both a human and a visual point of view. The close up on the young man's face expresses and openness - a sort of head-on "Here I am, this is me."

Visually, I very much like the simple textured background.

très belle composition avec ce cadrage décentré et le regard capté avec une présence "redoutable" ; la lumière particulière du regard "indien" est bien rendue également. J'aime bien cet aspect "close up", couvre-chef un peu coupé et haut des épaules. un portrait très sensible et qui est attirant par sa beauté.

finalement, je reviens dessus et te propose un petit WS (1/10/04)

you are such a master at capturing the beauty of india's common man!
yes, i would have preferred a little more sharpness here, but even then, it makes a very good portrait. i like the ruggedness of the backdrop, which reminds you that this young man is actually a construction worker.
