Photographer's Note
This shot was taken at the old harbour of Sunda Kelapa. It was a very busy and important port once. At present, it is still an active port harbouring logs from kalimantan .
The ship in the background is a Phinisi, or Bugis Schooner. It is used to transport logs from Kalimantan to Java. The Bugis, originated from the island of Sulawesi, is known to be a very able sailor. They went as far as Magadascar in Africa in their traditional schooner. Even now, in Indonesia they are still famous for their bravery at sea.
