Caught this shot down one of the narrow byways off of Jalan Malaboro. I shot more towards the old posters so not to offend this lady, but the camera's focus was clearly on her. My Bahasa Indonesia is weak. What do these old posters say?

hm.. this picture has a very good composition, but.. I cannot find any visible connection between the woman and posters - and this composition is just created to emphasize it!

Hooo, one of the best portraits background I've seen yet, Caleb! my political bahasa indonesia is also limited to survival and village small talk and therefore do not understand what's written behind, (I think it's an economical protest against big owners or something : dijual habis = stop the trade?) ... there's a feel of emergency which is perhaps conveyed by the woman's expression : we would then imagine through this photo a political statement of yours (which I know is not ;)...

on the flaws side : I think the brightest top part was not necessary.

Very candidly caught. I like the B&W contrast of the posters, (at first I thought you had worked in PP), more than just a good portrait.

Her sad face is very interesting against the backdrop of the social commentary poster. The translation ChrisJ provided makes this image even more interesting because perhaps this is her predicament. It is very beautiful. You captured her haunting eyes well.

I did not see this one and it is an outstanding portrait..I like the background, the lady's expression, compo, everything..worry in her eyes units with the background conceptually whatever it says..
