Photographer's Note

Tenganan Village, is one of unique villages in Bali
Many of them make a living from Woven clothing or plaiting mats. What make them unique is the ones who stay in the village are the original families from hundreds years ago. If one married to someone from another village, they could not stay there, they have to live at another village.

There is so much atmosphere in this shot, its great. The colour balance is also intriguing. The details too, are wonderful; the mist, the yellow flowering bush, the piles of wood, AND, the bird!

Hi Cessy,
Beautiful, very calm picture. I'm very easily affected by this sort of rural romanticism, longing for the "simple" life.

I love the tones here, I was surprised that this wasn't a slide, but actually from a digital camera. The blue haze over the green trees and the shadows at the front combined with the deatiled, yet silhouette-like depiction of the man. It's very well composed and captured.

Simply wonderful. The misty atmosphere combined with your excellent composition (and a great subject to boot) has created an outstanding image. Usually I would like to have the man walking towards the camera and not away, but in this instance it works for me just as it is. Excellent work.

Hi Cessy, I almost feel that I am following the guy walking on the isle. Very nice capture of the daily life scene in the small village. The fog in the background brings up many imaginations. A chicken on the road in the foreground is a bonus. The lighting condition is ideal, which bright up in the middle of the picture. An excellent composition and an excellent picture.

How can I resist this, the nice light misty background and the perspective darker foreplan leading to it while we see this man balancing the wood on his shoulder brings a lot of atmosphere with several tiny details and good eye travelling.

Magnifiques ces brumes qui entourent la forêt.
La lumière me plait beaucoup, l’homme avec son chargement se détache très bien.
C’est aussi très instructif de voir comment cet homme transporte son boit.
La construction de cette photo est bien faite, j’aime la présence de cette petite poule.
Les couleurs sont très belles et se marient très bien.

I love how the man and the bird in the foreground create a contrasting diagonal to where all the other lines are leading...really makes them pop out. Also, wonderful colors. Is that a sign in the background? Just curious. Just added this to my favorites!

j'espère que tu sais lire le français. je voulais d'abord te remercier de ton passage dans ma galerie dernièrement. ensuite te dire que j'ai évidemment voulu faire connaissance avec la tienne, et dès les trois vignettes, j'ai su que j'étais tombé sur un site qui promet d'être magnifique - alors à l'instant même, je n'ai pas le temps de m'y attarder, mais au plus vite je consacrerais un moment pour aller à cette découverte. cette photo faisait partie de ces trois vignettes, il ne m'a pas fallu chercher bien loin pour te dire tout cela. Cool explanation... a good recipe for in-breeding though!

Picture is awesome. The shades of green and blue in the background make a terrific effect. Eye is drawn nicely in the middle by the composition of lines. Really impressive!

Fantastic shot.
