Photographer's Note
In buddhism it is the highest state of being, when all desires are totally extinguished and one ceases to be.
I can't imagine achieving Nirvana with such beautiful surroundings, as the show you that the world is beautiful and they make you wish for more and not less.
Taken in Borobudur buddhist temple. Shortly after sunrise.

Haha! I had to laugh on after reading your note. So many beauties around, so why reach Nirvana? >:D
This is something we miserable mortals will never understand.
The Fujiyama-like mountain and the sun-warm statue of the Nirvana-man granted you a very nice compo. Not soulwise i guess, but you must have felt reaching the photographer's nirvana at that point of view.
Beautiful...

Hello, Daniel--
Nice work here, the warm morning lighting, ancient statue, and distant stare to Semeru give this a timeless feel... as if none of this has changed since creation, almost. You could potentially have stopped down a little bit more for more DOF... but i kind of like it as it is, holding the statue tack sharp and letting the background fade like time.
Thanks!

Ahh you were so lucky to be there on such a beautiful morning!
Maybe a little dark on the bottom edge perhaps - which could be cropped, but the burnished bronze colour against the blue sky works very well.
Cheers

bonjour daniel ,

I am dreaming of going to this place since quite a while and this picture will only make me dream even more. A fantastic composition with a gorgeous light. The volcano in the back gives such a dimension. I feel I could stay there all day long not doing much, just contemplating the beauty of the universe. In my favorites!

Hi Daniel,
The lighting here is amazing, touching the back of the buddha and then highlighting objects further into the frame. The cloud hanging horizontal below the mountain peak really enhances. A first rate capture, very inspiring. Cheers.

Salut Daniel,

Daniel, this shot doesn't have just a fantastic composition with Buddha sitting at a priviled site, but also the light conditions and the pastel colors are right on spot. This is an extremely well crafted photography that would deserve much more attention compared to what it got so far!

Hola Daniel,

Lovely angle you have chosen here, Daniel. Close up of the buddha from behind with a great view of the vulcano - and what a wonderful soft morning light - gorgeous.
Really looks like you had a great timd through Indonesia :O)

Excellent shot Daniel! The statue facing the mountain-or volcano?- at the background together with the splendid light conditions and colours give a fantastic result! Now that i look again it looks like if the statue is the leading officer of a war-vehicle turning his gun to the mountain!!Too much fantacy..!

Hola Daniel.
Felicitaciones.
Abrazos.

Hi Daniel,
It is not very often to see photographers taking a shot of the statue of Buddha from the back, but it works very well here especially so with your statement. It is interesting to see the different point of views and the lighting at this hour simply enhance the atmosphere. Brilliant idea!!
Have a fruitful day ahead.

Daniel !!!
Bravo, TFS,
Cath.

This is a photo I could have only dreamed of taking when I was there this past January. The lighting is amazing, and such a great view (when I was there, it was overcast, and I was unable to see the volcano in the distance).
I really like your focus here, as you can see the incredible detail on the stone.
One of the best shots I've seen from mighty Borobudur.

Hi Daniel
My son is working in Toulouse too, in aeronotic job!
Anyway, your picture is great
I wanted to take the same one . I didn't, but you did !(because too late, about half past seven, and a little bit more cloudy)
Well done ! ;-)
The colors are perfect and the Merapi very nice.
Thank you for sharing
Alain
