Photographer's Note
One of the the things I love about Japan is the preservation of ceramonies. You can seek it out, but if you hang around long enough, it will also come to you.
In this case, I heard a sound coming around the corner on this quiet street from our cafe and looked outside to see this little matsuri. A great surprise! Expecting something a bit longer, I took two shots and ran back into the cafe to grab my other lens. When I came back, the drums were faint again and the small group had gone around another corner and up a hill.
This was only the begining though - later that night a long ceramony in the shrine over the water had traditional music and dance. Absolutely magical.

Hi Dan,
An interesting action shot. Through the different positions of the drums and sticks one can visually feel the sound and tempo. You have chosen a POV that captured this mood perfectly. I like the shadows on the road too, they seem to echo the movement and sound. Great shot!! Many Thanks for the WS and regards.
