Photographer's Note
A photo which I do not like much, posted because this is my 300th posting, and the triplet buildings were the only ones I found in my archive to fit the theme of the number 3. These are office buildings in Yokohama, taken in the early morning by the harbour, I chose to stay in Yokohama for a night after my arrival because I preferred to be at the port rather than in Tokyo. For the next 10 days I saw and photographed many places with cherry blossoms and temples, this was one of the few shots which only show modern japanese architecture. The very first photo I uploaded to this site was also from the same trip.

Hello Tan,
I like it. It's an interresting view. Colours are nice, perhaps a little bit dark, but it's ok for me. UI like the symetry with the refelects.
Best regards

Why don't you like it? I think it is really good in spite of the vertical symmetry. The colours are very good but the best thing is the reflection of the buildings, in particular the tops. Well done.

Hi Tan,
Congrats on your 300th posting. There are few photographers on the site that have such a varied and high quality portfolio from so many countries as you have. The modernism of the shot is just fine, though I prefer traditional structures. You nicely fitted all three buildings into the vertical format and obtained a first rate reflection which is enhanced by the silver white squiggle, appearing almost like a bolt of lightning. Well captured.

It´s not so bad Tan, you will see. I think I would crop a bit at the right side to cut off the small building of the same color we can se also reflected on the water. Japan is order and organization, so this photo is quite interesting. Take care and enjoy orange juice.

Happy 300th, Tan. What is impressive in your diverse portfolio is not only the multitude of locations and countries covered, but even within each country you are still in a position to still add provinces and states from which you had not been posting before. Like in this one from Yokohama, a Kanagawa-first on your map. I appreciate the "theme of 3" going on in the photo, but other than paying attention to have the three buildings and their reflections fully in the frame, I am seriously missing some "oomph" here. Sorry to be the party pooper regarding the smiley, but compared to 95% of your other output this one for me is "good", not "great". Anyways, enjoy your continuation on TE!

Congratulations on your 300th, Tan! Hope to get to know more faraway destinations through your gallery. This one is a top composition for me, with the gradient of height reflected in the harbour water. I like your symmetrical crop and nice light on the buildings.
Cheers

Hi Tan,
Nice idea to celebrate your 300 by this picture. I really like it ... geometric and reflection from the architecture and water and a great composition. I like the fact that you keep the mirror line rigth in the center of your photo ... it adds more geometrical effect.

Hi Tan - 300 photos, an impressive amount of images, and as few other people have pointed out, plenty of diversity within your gallery. And this one is diverse too, modern architecture with a good composition to present the image. The blue colours are particularly strong here.

300th post!... Congratulations,
Come on Tan, don’t be so so humble... This photo still have a graphic quality, the light is just great and of course, the reflection is a bonus. At least, you’ve come up with a theme for your 300th, so for the sheer effort, it still deserves a dark smiley... Maybe, I would have crop a little bit tighter to cut the undesirable left building, but otherwise, it’s a pleasing architectural shot.
Bravo!

Hi Tan. Firstly, congats on your 300th. Secondly are those buildings really pink? I love the reflections, A little cliché perhaps, but when they work they look great, as in this shot. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Tan,
Congratulation for your 300th post! I like the horizontal symmetry and the vertical asymmetry, very interesting! The deep blue of the water is cool as well! Good concept for the figure 3 too. It looks like that cell phone ad...

Hi Tan
Congrats on your phenomenal milestone of 300 quality posts...I look forward for 300 or more inspirational work from you. I agree with John that there are few photographers on the site that have such a varied and high quality portfolio from so many countries as you have.
This is indeed quite unlike your earlier posts, but what I like here is the aptness with the moment...the reflections especially the S in the FG is interesting. My best wishes yet again

Hi Captain,
Congrats for your 300th upload and the so diverse gallery you have created so far.
This celebrating view seems to me fully appropriate due to the doubles 3 elements and while I understand it may be quite far from the beautiful sakura vision on an old temple you had expected it's not that bad actually, the structures stan out clearly against the blue sky and at least YOU had blue sky, I forgot to dial the blue sky hotline to order some...

Congratulations on 300! Great idea too, to have a photo with the theme of 3. As you say, it's not your greatest photo, but I like the clean lines and sold appearance, with the usual crisp contrast and colour. Hope we get to see another 300 from one of my favourite TE members!

Hello Tan, I agree with you 100%. The picture fits the three, being the 300th posting, but I still prefer more your typical landscape photos. I look forward to see another 300 posted in the same quality as the previous ones and possibly closing the world map with bright yellow.
Knowing of what you're capable of - this time it's just a good and not a great one.

Hi Tan
I agree that I don't like this photo so much either - at least not compared with most of your others, but it fits well for your 300th - congrats! The part I like best is the reflection of the left building which degenerates into a wavy line, very intriguing. I have enjoyed immensely your postings which are always of such high quality and appeal - keep up the great work!

Hi Tan,
I disagree, I really like this photo, for the simple half-half composition, the pattern created by the three buildings, the title, the waves that break the clean lines in the reflection, this effect is much more effective when a clean building is reflected than when a landscape that's already soft is reflected.
Congrats to the 300!

Hi Tan
maybe not your greatest shot, but the 300th upload alone is worth a smiley.
having said that, i do believe that the reflections are very nice, maybe they even would have carried the shot alone, without the actual buildings.

Wow, wow, wow! 300th my friend Tan! You know? The most fantastic thing here are not your 300 pictures, but the thousend of moments you´ve spent traveling to take it. Its a kind of life that a few people can live, even a little less people is smart to enjoy, and so rare people has sensibility to capture in photography. Thanks for sharing and God bless you with health and money to go ahead!
