The crossing of a train, a photo from Tokyo, Kanto

Photographer's Note

This is the only crossing in Yamanote Line which carries out annular operation of the metropolitan area. This crossing exists between Tabata and Komagome. Although the Komagome Station slippage had another crossing a long time ago, since the underground passage was made, there is no now. If a train approaches, a crossing gate will get down and an alarm will become. People or a car will wait for patiently here until a train goes past. Especially, there also needs patience for morning rushes time, since a train passes every several minutes. However, it seems that the local resident does not feel inconvenience so much since this neighborhood has little for traffic of people and quantity of a car. Yamanote Line of silver/green pattern made and passed sound.

Hello Mikio,
You have a very god eye for simple but attractive snapshots from daily life. The boy is perfectly placed and is wearing an eye-catching red shirt. The cartoon figures of the passing train have also been perfectly captured, one of each side of the boy.
Altogether a very enjoyable photo.

Hi Kato,
This is a very beautiful image, a situation which is not uncommon in France. Accidents also are not uncommon. I love to see the discipline and the patient waiting under the train. The framing is nice. The light, colors and sharpness are good, with an impression of movement. Bravo.

I like the way the little boy looking at the passing train. The colors are excellent specially the red shirt. I like the blurred effect on those cartoon figures on the train. Overall, a well balance image.

cool looking inner city shot.
with the boy looking left, its as if he's trying to look at the coloful posters as they zip by.
I like the idea of a subject in motion, and a stationary subject.

Kato-san,
It's yet another of your photos that makes me smile. What it lacks in technical aspects, it more than compensates for by catching just the right moment in time and showing something interesting. Many of us seem to forget that photography is not about a race for the "perfect pixels", but a way to tell stories. Your photos do exactly that - tell stories and one can clearly see that there is always thought and wisdom behind them.
