Photographer's Note
If I were to recommend one particular district to stroll around in Kyoto, I would recommend the Shinbashi - Shirakawa Minami area in the Gion district. Unlike some other overwhelmingly touristy areas which are crammed full of souvenir shops, the place is rather quiet and you can still find glimpses of everyday life in Kyoto there.
