Photographer's Note
This woman is standing in front of a life size image of one of the missing Aum Shinrikyo doomsday sect members that caused the subway gas attack in 1995. The pasted notice shows that he was "captured".

I like this shot -- not exactly sure why. Perhaps because I like mini-skirt-wearing Japanese girls? ;) No, no, perhaps it's because the girl seems lost in her own world and totally oblivious to the display of wanted criminals. I also like the reflection in the glass which adds another facet to the shot.

This one is grim, excellent choice of B/W-- the harsh contrast invites no warmth in this environment. The sterile, repetitive pattern of the tiles, the mirror and the heptagonal (I think ;) ) beam that the posters sit on all contribute to this feel.
I would have liked to have seen this shot with a "deer in the headlights" look from the girl; her indifference troubles me a bit but I guess if you had asked her to pose she'd bring out the "V" hand gestures and smile...

I LOVE the expression of the girl...sad and desperate...a bit lost... We don't know who is the fake human...is it the girl, or is it the pics surrounding her? Who will wave who? Who will get a burn out first? How can we ever feel so lonely in the multitude of a city like Tokyo? That's all the paradoxe!
