Photographer's Note
Picture taken at the Kashuga shrine, the shrine of 1000 lanterns, in Nara, Japan. Seeing that Nara was once the capital of Japan, this is a place where history and heritage come alive and to this day influence everyday life, as can be seen in shapshots like this.
Picture shot right after a rain shower, as the first rays of light was seeping through the foliage of the big trees near the shrine, creating interesting contrasts and colour schemes, playing on light and shadow and overall just adding to the kind of magic atmosphere of that place.
