Photographer's Note
In April 2004 I spent a little over a week traveling in Japan, visiting Nara, Kyoto, Tokyo, and Nikko. I had a wonderful time, but as I sat on the plane leaving Tokyo and reflected upon my trip, I was sad that I did not see the one sight that I had really hoped to see - Mt. Fuji. I had no idea if or when I would ever make it back to Japan, and it made me a little sad that I had gone all that way and didn't see it.
Alas, there was nothing I could do. I sat back, put my headphones on, and glanced out the airplane window - and to my amazment, there was Mt. Fuji! Beautiful, glorious, and clear as day, I felt like I could reach out and touch it. It was as though the Gods were listening to me, and Mt. Fuji just popped up to wave hello. It was just one of those miraculous moments that only seem to happen when you're traveling.

Wonderful photo of Mt. Fuji. Truly remarkable that you saw it framed like this in the clouds. Quite stunning and beautiful! Once in a lifetime.

Hello Tootsie, you are so lucky what a beautiful photograph of a beautiful mountain. I lived in Japan for four years and climbed Mt. Fuji three times and I am still dreaming of ever getting a photograph of Mt. Fuji as beautiful as yours. What a Kodak moment, great job and thanks for sharing it with the people of Trekearth.

Yes, a miracle because it's not so usual so take a picture so clean, sharp and and bright of Fuji-san. You were very lucky to enjoy this wonderful sight. Regards.

nice view. I like this shot.
I took the liberty of trying a little workshop to try and bring out the mountain a bit more. I just wish this photo had been posted with less compression (the artifacts become even more apparent on the sky & ground in the workshop)

Tootsie,
What a surprise it must have been to have given up and then the appearance of this beautiful volcano. An excellent shot from the plane's window,
