Photographer's Note
This picture was taken from the island of Don Det. It lies in an area of the Mekong, called Si Phan Don aka 4000 Islands, where the river is 14Km wide.
People told me you get the best sunsets in SE Asia there. This shot was taken from a little platform hanging over the river, shortly before darkness and an electric storm.
I was very surprised when this I developed this picture, obviously it didnt really look like that at the time, or I dont remember it like that.
I like the way the vine is growing on the wood, the green comes out quite crisp and it fits well with the color of the sky and water. The white streak in the sky is also nice
Unfortunatly its not great quality and again taken with a very cheap camera, Ixus APS

The colors of this shot seem directly to come from a film of science fiction! Very beautiful warm tints in this picture, I like very much.
Les couleurs de cette photos semblent directement venir d'une scene de science fiction ! De très jolis tons chauds sur cette image, j'aime beaucoup.

Very nicely composed.
The colors are not natural, as you point out, but extremely pleasing.
The shot needs a couple of tweaks.
First, there's lots of noise (the pebbly texture you see in the solid color areas). Software such as Neat Image will easily smooth this out. Additionally, you should try to determine why your scans are producing so much noise.
Second, the shot needs sharpening. This should always be done (at least checked) as the last step before posting. Often a very sharp photo can be messed up by the software that reduces the file size. Sharpening brings out the detail in the leaves, for example.
Then the color.... I'd have two versions of this shot if it were mine. One as the color is, quite beautiful. And one with the color corrected (easily done in an editor).
This is a shot well worth some work. I'm looking forward to updates.

This is a dream feeling shot...the framing and composition is nice...Even the "grain" seems that fits perfectly here...

Don't be apologetic - the colours are great and the composition is good and it's perfectly clear enough to make out a host of detail. I rather doubt that the sharpness can be improved - tho it's worth trying - and I certainly wouldn't want to alter the colours - tho again it could be worth experimenting. For me, it has impact as it is.

The white streak above and pole at left serve to frame the islands in the background nicely. I like the warm colors throughout.

I am glad your camera saw what you did not see! just to think it's water (a storm) who brought all thse fiery tones. Amazing!
