Photographer's Note
When I reached this stretch of beach near Morib, I saw so many dead mangrove. It left me feeling a bit down rather than calm. The following study might reveal the cause of this phenomenon.
Mangroves are inhabited by large number of fungal communities, known as manglicolous fungi. They include mostly marine fungi and small group of terrestrial fungi and can be categorized into saprophytic, parasitic, and symbiotic fungi. Fungi in mangrove environment play an important ecological role in decomposition of organic matter by production of variety of extracellular degradative enzymes such as cellulase, xylanase, pectinase, amylase, and so on. Such enzymes can be isolated from the mangrove fungi and harnessed for several biotechnological applications. Several bioactive metabolites are derived from mangrove fungi, specially from mangrove endophytic fungi, which are used in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries to produce antimicrobial, anticancer, antioxidant, antidiabetic, and other therapeutic agents. Besides, certain mangrove fungi also contribute toward production of biopesticides useful in control of plant diseases, while others produce microbial lipids used as potential feed stock for biodiesel production. In spite of immense ecological role and biotechnological potentials, mangrove fungi are not extensively studied.

Hello Jusni,
There are so many places around the world where natural things seem to be in trouble! Although the devastation of the mangroves was a sad experience (and rightly so) your photograph, because of its warm sunset and sweeping palm tree doesn't appear sad.
Your signpost bicycle adds a lovely, focal f/g image.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Jusni,
It is unfortunate that man does not always appreciate his surroundings and is often unaware of the damage he does until it is too late. Having said that your composition is a true delight for the eyes. Well composed with the ever present bicycle:-) Beautiful warm lights and colours and excellent clarity.

Bonjour Jusni,
Elle commence à avoir des kilomètres dans les roues cette bicyclette que se prête volontiers à tous les caprices de son photographe préféré. Ici, c'est le coucher du soleil qui en profite.
Amicalement

Hello Jusni,
Not only in Malaysia but also Australia and also the coral. Here is a link to the mangrove trees dying in the Gulf of Carpentaria. An area where there is no pollution and few people. Global warming is real.

A nice sunset shot and the bike adds a good focal point. Tfs!

Salam Jusni
This has a stunning irony!! a rather disturbing environmental problem taking place there at same time. Demise of the mangrove forest - the protector on the unstable coastline which is so precious to mankind providing life and source of food supporting livelihoods of the local inhabitants.
What's left now is seemingly eerie looking 'skeletons' in stark contrast on the shoreline but that's the reality straight from your view finder. An extremely engaging shot and thanks to your indepth description, Congrats.
Best wishes

I have two different feelings, on the one hand a romantic sunset, on the other hand sad dead forest, a very emotional photo

Hi Jusni
Quel tristesse de voir cela dans un si beau endroit, le coucher du soleil ajoute un peu de douceur a ce drame, bien placer la bicyclette
belle journée

Hello Jusni,
the late sunset light with the colour tints of the sky enhance even more the beauty as the tranquillity of the atmosphere. The created reflections on the calmly surface of the water with the dark silhouette of the bicycle as the palm trees on the right make the image even more attractive.

Hi, Jusni.
Impressive beauty, that of this sunset with the sun that enters between clouds, but it colors the sky in an ideal way, the same as the reflections in the water, ideal the POV with the backlight of the palm trees and the famous bicycle, curious all those Sticks or stakes we see in the water.
A fantastic photo, with beautiful natural colors, very good lighting and excellent clarity.
Very good work. I like it.
Good start to the week.
All the best.
Luis.

Hi Jusni,
it's allways sad to see when nature are dying or polluted. I saw tons of plastic garbage that was washed up on the shore when I was in Indonesia last year. I feels like the oceans are dying..This is however a good shot, a fine composition and a nice sunset. Tfs!
Have a nice evening/
Boa
