Photographer's Note
The management of water distribution in the Muda area is crucial to its rice cultivation. During wet season, the viability of water for the rice paddies mainly depends on the rainfall. Cultivation during dry season depends on irrigated water. Pedu is the main source of irrigated water while Ahning Dam came in a distance second. Both dams irrigate about 100,000 hectares of rice paddies in Kedah and Perlis under the MADA irrigation system. Water is released from the two dams during dry period at the beginning of planting season. Thus the measurement of transit time, flow rate and distribution of water within the rice paddies is the main activity of MADA. Since 1987, MADA together with MINT have been studying the flow regime of the water in the canal during “normal” release from Pedu and Ahning Dams. The aim was to deliver the required amount of water at the right time and place for sustainable rice production with optimal use of irrigation water.

Good landscape view of not just the canal, Jusni, but also the backdrop of limestone hills with green fields to make it scenic.
Often times, the DID schemes fail to function due to poor maintenance work, although I am not sure about Kedah state.
Great shot. TFS

Hello Jusni,
A great look at the Limestone Cliffs here. This is a good image sharing the neccessity of water in your countryland to grow crops, even as many of us foreignors believe that it rains there constantly being in Malaysia.

Hi Jusni, a simple composition and the rock with their reflections are the strongest sides here.
The lightness and the sharpness are also very good.
Best wishes.

Hey Jusni,
Wonderful nature in Malaysia. I know it depends on the region, but I always thought it looks more like .. um - more rainforesty, but now that I`ve browsed thru your photos it actually looks more "European" than I thought. Well, most of it.
Anyway, a nice photo. Lively colors, great composition. Good of you to include in the pump thingy.
See you round.

Hi Jusni,
A beautiful view, very nicely framed. The clarity/light and colours are rather attractive and along with the note make it an interesting documentary.
Regards, José.

Hi Jus,
your photo on these two hills is well captured and well composed- elements of reflection, balancing and exploitation of existing objects - the tall grasses as the foreground. Maybe i would say that without the tree in the middle, it may look better. The contrasting colours -green , white and blue
make the photo stands out.
