Shwedagon temple, a photo from Yangon, South

Photographer's Note

Shwedagon temple complex is located in Yangon, which was the former capital. It highlights the artistic beauty of its golden temples and the magnificent golden stupa Shwedagon Paya located on the western shore of Royal Lake in the hills Singuttara.

This stupa causing surprise among travelers for its beauty and majesty, is surrounded by many temples covered in gold and is considered the most sacred by Buddhists of the country and containing relics of Buddha, including a piece of cloth and eight Siddhartha Gautama hair. Has a height of 100 meters and is fully covered with a gold plating.

According to legend, the Shwedagon Paya Stupa is about 2,500 years old. But according to archaeologists was built between the sixth century and the tenth century by the Mon, which would be about a 1110 years.

The Shwedagon religious center with its temples that glow in the distance for all the gold in it, and outside where poverty is extreme, is a clear example of the religious force of the Burmese.

Shwedagon es un complejo religioso situado en Yangon, que fue la antigua capital del país. En él se destaca la belleza artística de sus templos dorados de oro y la magnífica estupa Shwedagon Paya situada en el margen occidental del Lago Real en las colinas Singuttara.

Esta estupa que causa gran sorpresa en los viajeros por su belleza y majestuosidad, esta rodeada por varios templos recubiertos en oro y está considerada la más sagrada por los budistas del país ya que contiene algunas reliquias de Buda, entre ellas un trozo de tela y ocho cabellos de Siddharta Gautama. Tiene una altura de 100 metros y esta totalmente recubierta por un baño de oro.

Según su leyenda, la estupa Shwedagon Paya tiene unos 2.500 años de antigüedad. Pero, según los arqueólogos fue construida entre el siglo VI y el siglo X por los mon, con lo cual tendría alrededor de unos 1.110 años.

El centro religioso de Shwedagon con sus templos que resplandecen a lo lejos por todo el oro que hay en él, y afuera donde la pobreza es extrema, es un claro ejemplo de la fuerza religiosa de los birmanos.

Hola Luis,
Your framing with the open door (or window) is wonderful. I'm not sure if it's the silhouette of woodwork or of a curtain that we see here but it was an excellent idea to use this as a frame.
We get to see a very beautiful part of the enormous complex of the Shwedagon temple and this building with its attractive roofs and towers is taken from a good angle and with excellent sharpness.
The Burmese visitors create a good atmosphere.

Hello Luis, This is a very stunning building with with the golden spires reaching for the heavens. Excellent composition and good color with the individuals in the foreground lending depth to the picture. I recognize that there was probably many renovations on this temple, but when one looks at your notes and finds how old this building is. Amazing. Great presentations. Have a good week. Me gusta el marco que has creado con la silueta de la celosía, a través del cual podemos ver la gran belleza arquitectónica del templo y de la estupa, bajo una buena luz.
Has hecho un buen trabajo con el escaneado, la imagen mantiene unos bonitos colores y una buena calidad a pesar de los años.
Y la fina línea azul con el marco negro remata con calidad esta composición.

your scans have such a good quality that I always have to check if these are archival photos or new ones.
Wonderful architecture! I believe emka is there right now enjoying it.
The real highlight here is the original framing which adds a nice touch to the composition. Also the local people walking the square add some life and do not disturb the view.
