In the village of Peinepin, a photo from Shan, North

Photographer's Note

From the town of Kalaw, which is the most important in the area, conducted a treakking to Peinepin village, the road for a dirt road, sometimes muddy, with heat and humidity turned a nice experience, because by receiving the fields , we were finding people working in them, or someone we met on the road or with a wagon and as enjoyable as always, was to find the warmth of the people and their smiles.

We reached the village where the people were lovely, we were shown some of their houses, how they lived, and cooked and offered tea with a sweet,
posed for us with great kindness, was a wonderful experience.

I have always said that the best of Myanmar are its people, who have nothing but offer it with a smile.

Desde la población de Kalaw, que es la mas importante en la zona, realizamos un treakking hasta la aldea de Peinepin, la ruta por un camino de tierra a veces enfangado, con calor y mucha humedad resulto una bonita experiencia, pues atraves de los campos, ibamos encontrando gente trabajando en ellos, o nos cruzábamos con alguien por el camino ó con alguna carreta y siempre lo mas agradable, era encontrar la calidez de la gente y sus sonrisas.

Llegamos a la aldea, donde la gente fue encantadora, nos enseñaron alguna de sus casas, la forma en que vivian, como cocinaban y nos ofrecieron té con un dulce, posaron para nosotros con mucha amabilidad, fue una experiencia maravillosa.

Yo siempre he dicho que lo mejor de Myanmar son sus gentes, que nada tienen pero que lo ofrecen con una sonrisa.

Hola Luis,
I agree, the best of Myanmar are its wonderful people, so friendly and smiling although so poor. Interesting photo from your deep archive. But now nothing changed much. Nice portrait of this father with sons. Heartwarming photo.

Hola Luís, excelente foto en B/N de las buena gentes de este lugar, un muy buen testimonio de lo que le que por hacer al ser humano en materia de justicia económica, esta estupanda foto en B/N me recuerda las gentes pobres que vivian en el barrio que estaba junto al que yo crecí, no tenemos tan lejos tan cruda realidad cuando aún la tenemos en la memória. Excelente trabajo amigo mio, mis felicitaciones por ello. Gracias por compartir tus interesantes trabajos.

Pd. Por aquí el frio se ha suavizado un poco, pero las nubes unas veces altas y otras bajas no me dejan salir a tomar fotos por los lugares de mi entorno que tengo pendiente.

Old picture, but with a lot of charm, seeing the father and kids now 16 years older than in time taken - Did you ever wonder what they look nowadays, what happened with them since, and if they have internet - and do see this picture?
Would be very interesting reserch to do.
Nice written about the people, simplicity look, even innocent on picture.

The beauty of the coutryside and its people is beyond imagination and I fully agree with you, and this shot looks almost timeless of a humble looking picture beautifully framed full of characters, pin sharp and the tonal contrast is excellent. Hola Luis,
los casi 17 años de esta foto apenas se notan en su calidad y su nitidez, el escaneado ha quedado perfecto.
El hombre con sus hijos posando para ti nos ofrecen una escena llena de vitalidad y muy interesante, que se complementa gráficamente con tu nota, auqnue en este momento no había sonrisas, supongo que por algo de vergüenza o de corte.
A pesar de eso, podemos notar la amabilidad, la cortesía y la hospitalidad de estas sencillas gentes, en una imagen con un fuerte componente dramático debido al blanco y negro.
Bello trabajo, amigo mío.

PD: ya he visto tu nueva foto en NPL, Pili está muy contenta por tu regreso allí. Aunque eso significa el doble de trabajo.
