Nanda, a photo from Shan, North

Photographer's Note

Let me introduce you "Nanda", a monk from the "Nga Phe Chaung" monastery, a very fine man we met several times during our stay on the Inle lake.

That's him who taught us the basics about Buddhism since it has been the first time my wife and I visited a buddhist country. He also shared many pieces of information about the hill tribes arounf Kyaing Tung we wanted to visit. He helped us to find the "Aludabang" pagoda festival I told you about.

That's a very nice monk with a fine sense of humour and who amazed us since he spoke several foreign languages like english, french and spanish but also knew a lot of thing about Europe and its history.

And last but not least, he's a master of the Jumping Cat league :)

quelle lumière et quelle joie rayonnante! WOW! et ces couleurs! je fonds en voyant cette image! en plus, il est beau ce Nanda! je suis sur le cul! bravo!!!

Le choix des tonalités est très beau, il y a un côté "technicolor" avec une dominante rouge et un magnifique fondu de décor de cinéma, mais qui va vraiment très bien avec tout.

Nanda a une belle pose avec des bras bien posés franchement, qui dessinent une structure bien tranchée, à ton portrait... bref tout est réussi.

Hello Steven.
C'est un peu posé, pas des plus naturelle, mais on s'en fout ! Le piqué est imrpessionnant et ce moine ressort mognifiquement bien avec cette bonne dof. Vraiment une très bonne qualité d'image et de belles tonalités de couleurs. Ca sent le coup de flash ou je me trompe ?

an amazing guy indeed, with a great sense of humor and a thirst for knowledge.. i like how we can see the title of the book he's reading... (i wonder if 1984 would also be available in his country?) great colours here, a very appealing portrait.. i may post one of him jumping the cats :-)...
