Photographer's Note
Photograph taken near Kagbeni.
The Valley of Mustang (called by locals "Lo" Valley, whereas Lo actually means the people living in Mustang)is very barren and eroded. The colours of earth were dominating our journey up to Lo Mantang constantly, but were as diverse as one can possibly imagine.

Hello Laura,
Fine shades of grey in thsi photo of great clarity in which the ragged peaks look as they are in flame.

Hi Laura,
Another great Mustang shot. Again it's the uniformity of colours that is very strong, many subtle variations. Great pov and classic composition. The position of the gletsjer (or what is it) opposite is just perfect here. In spite of the subject the picture seems to have a certain 'flatness' on the opposite mountain, which makes it very difficult to get a sense of distance/dimension, I find this very appealing.
Thanks for sharing & happy trails in 2010!
Benny
