Photographer's Note
Early morning at the World Peace Pagoda in Pokhara valley above Fewa lake. It is a one hour hike from the lake. I was there alone, the weather was beautiful, the sight was spectacular.
From left to right Machhapuchhre (6993m), Anapurna III (7555m), Anapurna IV (7525m), Anapurna II (7939m), Lamjung Himal (6932m). Machhapuchhre, which translates as Fishtail, looks the highest only because it is closer than the other peaks.
Sarangkot, the highest point on the "hill" (well, compared to the snowy mountains behind, I feel this is how I have to call these lower green mountains) above the lake, is now a very popular paragliding spot. It is from Sarangkot that I took the sunrise picture shown in my previous post.

Almost speechless looking at this beautiful mountain scene. A majestic range of mountains that any human will appreciate not just because of its natural beauty but also because of the serious challenges it represents. The perspective to capture this impressive view is excellent. The contrast of snowy mountains and the green mountains in the foreground and the very nice colours add so much charm and appeal to the composition. Excellent work Vincent :-)

Hello Vincent,
Very nice picture with an incredible clearness of the sky. There are details on all the photo and the opposition between the green of the foreground and the white snow of the background gives deepness to the photo.

Hi Vincent,
Well presented mountain landscape with several layers of different colours and texture.
There is good depth of field and plenty of details in your image.
I like how the houses look just like tiny white spots scattered around the mountain slopes.

Really very spectacular view!
Probably I never will be there and meet such clear wheather to view the surroundings and distant peaks is even less probable.
Thanks You for sharing and thanks TE for virtual tour possibilities.

P.S. Small note: it seems that blue tones are dominant more than it should be in reality. Or at this altitude it is so blue?
I eventually post my view of this landscape in workshop.

Bonjour Vincent,
I'm amazed at the wide-open feeling of your framing, I never seen these mountains in a photograph that moves mne more. I guess it's that high POV, that allows you to capture four major peaks and include the view from the lake to the clouds. The perfect detail and light management make it even better. There is even a bit of a mountain reflection in the Lake. I read the excellent detail of your note with great interest. Wishing you health, love & joy, Pat

You really were fortunate with the light here Vincent, it's absolutely superb. It's a bit of a shame that the shadow areas are so blocked out, but only to be expected with digital capture in a scene with such a wide range of brightness levels. You made the right choice in exposing for the highlights.
I'd have liked to have seen a bit more of the lake at the bottom of the frame. Having a similar proportion of lake to that of the mountains and sky would have created a better balance I think.
Nontheless, a superb landscape shot of this amazing place, and one that brings back good memories.
Cheers,
Ben

Salut Vincent,
Now I know the name of the place where was shot the poster of that mountain range that has been on front of me in all the offices I have had since I visited Nepal...
Actually this photo is even more wonderful than that poster! The light on the snowed peaks is gorgeous and the inclusion of the lake and those green hills let us notice that the high peaks aren't the only awesome aspect of that view.
There is a lot of merit of the photographer involved, as a gorgeous view like this one only translates in such great image with a lot of talent and inspiration.
Amicalement, José.

Bonjour, Vincent,
