Sunset Boats, a photo from Cebu, Central Visayas

Photographer's Note

I took this shot at the wharf in Bantayan while waiting for the sun to set. These boats were decommisioned because they were used to transport white sands which is now an illegal trade. What caught my attention was the residual water inside the boat reflecting the sky. Hope you like it.

Sorry for my long absence here in TE as I was concentrating on B&W in TL and also just got back from my annual leave. I miss posting color photos ... I'm glad to be back.

i like this calmness and idyllic atmosphere that created from the sunset.The two boats in the foreground create a great depth in combination with the islet in the middle of the scene.I like the subdued light, with the sun still painting pastoral colors in the clouds makes this a memorable shot.Well done.

Hello Renier,

Mainly because of time logistics, I don't have a Trek Lens account so I seldom visit. When I do I see a great range of photographic skills that are not permitted on TE. Visiting your TL gallery was good; I especially liked your car portraits. I hope to see more of you back on TE, but if you want to spend more time with creative photography on TL then that's fine also. I will have to check up on them. This shot is pleasant; I love the atmosphere here at day's end. I was unaware of this white sands trade, might have to read up on it. Well done, good to see you 'back'.

The seetting golden sun and low sky work wonders as they reflect in the clam bay. The sand in the boats catch a very soothing turquoise reflection as they lay ideally waiting for a legal cargo. Hope you enjoyed visiting your homeland and welcome back.

Hello Renier,
A lovely composition, including boats that are not typical for the Philippines!
Image has a fine sense of depth and wonderful sunset colours, enhanced by the fine veil of clouds...
Personally I'm against cloning but here I might be tempted to do something about the boats in a distance that were cut!
