Bantayan Sunrise, a photo from Cebu, Central Visayas

Photographer's Note

I took this from Bantayan public market looking towards the town. The town faces west thus don't get the early full sun rising. But based on my experience, the sky is actually more colorful when the sun is still just about to rise in the horizon.

I feel the same about sunsets. For me, the light is much better after the sun disappears below the horizon. The colours become richer and more saturated. I like your shot as the colours are excellent and the light is already enough to let us see the foreground. Well done.

Hello Renier,

I think you caught the light of the sunset very well. The orange tones look great, well saturated and enhance the mood of the moment nicely. The reflections and the fain light on the foreground show us details of the boats as well. Thanks Renier.

Great tropical sunset with the bows of the traditional fishing vessels commingling with the lovely pink, gold and blue colors reflecting in the calm waters of this lovely bay. The sky is vividly beautiful seen over the silhouetted palm trees.trees.

Yes few moment before the sun rises is the best moment to capture the colourful sky, this shot i like alot, the beautiful orange tones is the best combination against the shadows and the reflections just make it more special. It worth for waking up ealier...

A great atmosphere is captured here!
I like the 85% silhouettes where we still can see a few details, and as always the reflected colours are better than the real ones...

The sunrise colours are magnificent. Taking sunrise/set shots close to water doubles the pleasure because of the reflected colour like you have here. The silhouetted palms tell us we are in the tropics and there is just enough light to show some detail in the boats. Well done

Excellent shot, I find this more sunset that sunrise feeling. I like the mood and the smoothness in this shot. The silhouette of the boats ends with those rope gives a balance composition. Those reflections are absolutely an eye catcher.
