Photographer's Note
It's again St. Basil's cathedral. I am not a fanatic of this place ;)), just passed by and used other POV and RAW format.

Your favorite subject?
Well, that's perfectly understandable.
It seems to me that you could picture it endlessly through all hours of the day, all seasons and all angles... And the result would be excellent and different every time.
Bravo Julia! Keep posting! :-)

Hello Julia. A marvellous shot, quite stunning the way the cathedral looms up against the dramatic sky, and I love the inclusion of that fellow walking past on the left. Teriffic colour and light, and a real sense of depth in the shot. Perhaps you could have cropped just a bit of the sky at the top. But that's not important, it's a fine image.

Andrew

Bonjour Julia
très jolies couleurs. La cadrage me plait et le ciel gris met bien en relief cette cathedrale. Beau travail

Hi Julia,
A wonderful point of view of this cathedral with a great dramatic sky which helps to bring out the colours. The person adds some good interest and gives a sense of scale. A nice clear image.

Well, why not, such a good subject, and a slightly unuaual take on it here, from the East is not so comon, and also, usually taken against a blue sky.

Beautiful release Julia with stupendous colors despite the ugly time.
A low pow that exalts the majesty of the Russian architecture.

Very nice tones on this very good picture of his place under very special light conditions, the grey sky i guess. I wonder about the post processing that you applied - if any. The resuls in any case are wonderful. Congratulations.

Hello Julia, your favorite subject was always a sort of fairytale subject for me, hoping to see it once with my own eyes, and I did, look here.
This is quite a historical place and a beautiful landmark of Moscow.
I find your postprocessing work a little bit peculiar, it's not that I don't like it, but it makes the bright colors of the cathedral so strange.

You have captured wonderful detail in the cathedral. Even though it is a bit dark it lights up the overcast sky.

Hi Julia,
Seeing this cathedral, it's colours and fabulous architecture always amazes me, and I honestly think that this should also be part of the World's Wonders.
Your photo shows unsual colours, but very nice also along with a darker atmosphere that helps to create a mystical feeling.
Cheers.

Great shot Julia;
I can see why this is one of your favorite subjects. So many great angles- and colors. I like this shot with the ominously cloudy sky...
Nice work,

Hello Julia,
This was also one of my favorite subjects when I traveled to Moscow over 10 years ago. The PP work you've done on this shot creates a very awesome light on the decorated walls on domes of this church and the result is quite different from the shot I posted a few months back, though the weather conditions seem to have been quite the same.
Have a nice week-end.

Yes, Julia, I think this is a POV seldom photographed, perhaps because of the intruding wall. Nice sky tones though. regards, c

Hi Julia, this Basilica always fascinated me a lot, although I never have been in Russia. Your low POV enhances a lot the contrast of the colorful towers against the dark overcasted sky. It would be really interesting to use this subject to get pictures form different seasons, light conditions, POV, etc. I'm sure that you could entertain us a lot with your favorite subj ;-)
Regards, Peter
