Moskova from the Russia hotel, a photo from Moscow, Center

Photographer's Note

The picture was taken from my room (12th floor) of the huge Russia hotel (2900 rooms). This hotel will be demolished next year. Other hotels have disappear like the hotel Moscou and hotel Intourist in the center of the town. They were built during the communist time. This hotel was inaugurate in 1967.
The river is the Moskova and we can see the "Christ Sauveur" cathedral finished in 1997.
On the right, we can see the Kremlin wall.

I have put the camera on a tripod and choose a small aperture to have a longer exposure time in order to have the light traces of the cars.

Bien la pose à 8 secondes; l'ensemble est très bien exposé à part l'enseigne très lumineuse sur le bâtiment de l'autre rive.
Le fleuve est transformé en patinoire, c'est très intéressant. Bon travail Chantal.

La pureté de cette image nocturne est absolument étonnante et superbe !
Et comme la composition, avec ces diagonales qui se croisent, est excellente aussi, cela donne au final une photo vraiment très réussie et à l'ambiance particulière, presque féérique.

je n'avais jamais vue ceci de nuit. merci de partager. La pose est idéalement faite pour ne pas voir le traffic, et bien voir les immeubles. Par contre ces affichages lumineux c'est une cata pour les belles photos nocturnes...

Superbe photo de nuit Chantal, un point de vu qui met très bien en valeur la ville, la clarté et les lumière sont superbe. La couleur des principaux édifices ressort très bien également, de l'excellent travail, bravo.

Nice photo Chantal... I like the perspective and the contrast of this picture. When I went to Moscow I stayed at the same hotel I have to say I do not keep a nice souvenir of the place, specially of the staff: They were quite rude with us. Nevertheless I fell sorry the bulding will disapear: It´s a perfect exemple of sovietic arquitecture. Thanks Chantal, very nice one.
