The monastery of the Trinity and St. Sergius in the town of Sergiev Posad (formerly Zagorsk) is an important Russian monastery and spiritual center of Russian Orthodox Church. Sergiev Posad is located approximately 70 kilometers northeast of Moscow on the Yaroslavl road. It currently houses about 300 monks. According to UNESCO, which declared a World Heritage Site in 1993, is "a good example of functioning Orthodox monastery, with military features typical of the fifteenth to the eighteenth centuries, during which it developed. The main church of the Lavra (monastery), the Cathedral of the Assumption (reminiscent of the Kremlin Cathedral of the same name) contains the tomb of Boris Godunov. El monasterio de la Trinidad y San Sergio en la ciudad de Sérguiev Posad (antiguo Zagorsk) es un importante monasterio ruso y centro espiritual de la iglesia ortodoxa rusa. Sérgiev Posad se encuentra a unos 70 kilómetros al noreste de Moscú en la carretera que va a Yaroslavl. Actualmente alberga a únos 300 monjes. Según la UNESCO, que lo declaró Patrimonio de la Humanidad en 1993, se trata de «un buen ejemplo de monasterio ortodoxo en funcionamiento, con rasgos militares típicos de los siglos XV al XVIII, período durante el que se desarrolló. What a fantastic point of this picture with the splendor of this church. I really like the execution of this Orthodox church. It is done nicely and neatly.You show us a wonderful architecture of this place against the beautiful blue sky with an amazing management of light, colors, sharpeness, clarity. Vrlo interesantan i dobar tekst o starom gradu i crkvama ...
Lep pogled na staru crkvu i kupole na kojima su krstovi koji idu u nebo, lepa fotografija.
Dobra ostrina sniamka i kontrast kojim ste istakli lepotu crkve.

Bonita vista de la antigua iglesia y torres de la que las cruces que están en el cielo, bellas imágenes.

Hello Luis, This is a wonderful sight to see, such a massive structue with beautiful onion top steeple brightl colored. Your shot is so colorful and you have people present which makes a big difference in showing pictures. Here on TrekEarth, there is a propensity by posters to present a building without people. The scene is dull without them. Finally I look at this fantastic ornamentation, frescoes, facades and other detail and I wonder how they can be maintained so well. This is really an exceptional picture IMO. Regards, Roger

esta iglesia ortodoxa, con su maravillosa arquitectura, llena la imagen con sus elegantes formas, sus voluptuosas cúpulas y su rica ornamentación, en una foto antigua a la que se le notan los años, pero que mantiene su fresca belleza original.
La luz era espléndida, y eso se nota en la calidad de los colores y en los brillos en esas preciosas cúpulas.
Un trabajo muy bonito, finamente enmarcado.

Me gusta la forma que la has encuadrado entre el farol y el obelisco
Me alegra que hayas incluido a la gente, sin ella estas fotos parecen tomadas en lugares siempre vacios

Hola Luis,
you had a stunning weather in this spot. It helped very much to bring out the colors of the domes. The architecture is so beautiful and certainly unique to this region. The ladies with scarves on their heads add another local touch.
