Photographer's Note

This is Chinatown in Singapore and it is abuzz with activities as the countdown to Chinese New Year starts. February 9, 2005 is the first day of the new year by the lunar calendar.

There are 3 ways to name a Chinese year,
1. First by an animal, which there are 12 rotated on a yearly cycle, and the new year will be the year of the Rooster.
2. Then by the name of YiYou, which is recycled every 60 years.
3. And finally by the year 4702.

I will try to get more pictures from Chinatown as Chinese New Year approaches and share it on TE.

PS. Had to use a large aperture as I had to hand hold the camera because a tripod was not on hand.
