Photographer's Note

This was taken at Sri Mariammam Templefrom, a Hindu temple. It has a pagoda-like entrance which is topped by this towering pyramid of ornate gopuram (pyramidal gateway tower) made up of brightly painted statues of deities and mythical animals.

This is an excellent shot!
Just the simple application of the vertical frame combined with the overwhelming amount of beautifully coloured statues makes this photo worth a long study.
Details are excellent and the focus is put right in the meiddle of this marvellous structure.

the preview was the questioning one. What is on the capture? Wonderful shot and you managed to get a lot of those statues in your one, I think all would not be possible. Lovely details by this contrats and colors, seems that each one would be worth a capture.

This is great Renier, I tried to photograph it but didn't managed to balance the exposure differences between the bright sky and colourful gopuram. You have achieved this well with great colours and sharpness. A nice perspective too.

Your colorful presentation of this politeistic sculpture is very interesting! I've heard that painting of stues has been practiced in may cultures but is a bit unusual for the modern one. The sharpness of your pic and the chosen pov are remarcable!

Hi Renier,
For a moment I thought you have come to India. This is the most common feature of South Indian Temple structure, very diiferent from the ones elsewhere in the country. Excellent POV with good DOF to get all the details against the blue sky.

This is a very colorful picture of a very interesting temple. The composition is very good, I like how the perspective of this "towering pyramid" recedes toward one of the strongest points of the picture.
