In Mae Hong Son, in the mountains of the north, on the Burmese boarder, The Tai Yai tribal people have a tradition of Poy Son Lon. The boys between 10 and 11 are dressed up in finery and taken to the temple to be ordained as temporary Buddhist novices. The ceremony celebrates the parents' pride in their children and the child's gratitude to their parents. The ceremony is an occasion for great celebration. Elle frappe comme un coup de point cette photo qui attire automatiquement le regard dans la galerie. Tu t'es mis au niveau de l'enfant et de son regard. Ses cheveux fraîchement coupés donnent une texture exceptionnelle à l'ensemble.

Ouch...this is a shot that hits the target.

Excellent dof, sublime expression and there's a weird, almost alien-like feeling to it, partly because of the bits of hair, mostly because of the way it's photographed. A very strange, fascinating & beautiful picture! Congratulations!

In Myanmar this ceremony is called shinbyu. when young boys go to a monastery for a few month.
This is an amazing portrait of this boy after his haircut.
