Young monks, a photo from Bangkok, Central

Photographer's Note

Bangkok is probably the most modern (by "western" standars) city of this part of the planet, but pictures like this are very common not only inside a "complex" of temples like Wat Pho in this particular one, but also in everyday life out in the streets. Tens or even hundreds of thousands of young people walk in the streets of Bangkok wearing this deep orange monks' robe. That's happening because it is considered a great honour for every Thai family (no matter how wealthy of "modern") when their sons get to be Bhuddist monks, even for a period of few weeks.

This photo is an amazing exemple of how important is the people in one photo. They give life and without the two monks would be empty.

The monks are in a perfect position to make this foto a verry good composition.Verry nice with the vegetation at both sides and the great colors of the monk`s cloth and of the roofs between.Well seen and done.

WOW ! This is gorgeous. I like the way you have kept the monks off-centre yet managaing to draw attention. The Buddhist monks in their bright robes (they usually wear maroon in India) are always very photogenic but here the BG is excellent for its architectural importance.

Bien compuesta, me gustan las diagonales que forman todas las líneas aquí, desde las losas del pavimento hasta las fachadas y tejados del templo. Bien iluminada, y desde luego, los colores son fantásticos, gracias en parte a esos dos monjes con sus túnicas de color naranja.
Todo el conjunto es muy bueno y agradable a la vista.

I have very much interest toward the buildings and roofs, also the floor in foreground with all the lines make the picture very pleasant for looking, the Monks in foreground are very young and with hair!

Your composition is great, monks always make for great colourful photos and you have done well to capture them looking relaxed and unaffected by your presence. However the sky looks a little washed out, which is tough to avoid when you shoot at midday.

Μου αρέσουν πολύ οι φωτογραφίες από τέτοια μέρη. Τόσο πολύχρωμα αλλά και διαφορετικά από τα δικά μας, έχουν την δική τους ξεχωριστή χάρη. Εξαιρετικό και το "πιάσιμο" των δύο μοναχών εν κινήσει!

It's always a good shots with monks in a WAt & Wat Pho is so beautiful. The roofs have come out beautifully here & the off-centering of the monks with their bright dresses is eye catching.

Superbe prise de vue à la composition parfaite. Magnifique architecture. Ce que j'aime dans cette photo, c'est le mouvement ressenti, sans doute dû au pas des moines, et à la parfaite perspective du dallage.
Couleurs très belles.
